Toyota Reports Record November 2003 Sales

TORRANCE, Calif., Dec. 2, 2003 -- Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), U.S.A., Inc., today reported best-ever November sales of 147,731, an increase of 12.8 percent over last November. Calendar-year-to-date (CYTD) sales total 1,712,897, an increase of 6.5 percent compared to the same period last year.

"A strong rebound in retail sales, especially in big-ticket items, continues to fuel a broad economic recovery," said Jim Press, TMS executive vice president and COO. "Although we see strong sales across our lineup, the phenomenal response to Prius reflects mainstream acceptance of this important new technology."

The Toyota Division recorded best-ever November sales of 124,626, an increase of 8.8 percent. The Lexus Division also enjoyed record November sales of 23,105 units, up 40.4 percent over last November.
