Kmart Hires DaimlerChrysler VP to Be CFO
TROY, Mich. December 1, 2003; AP reported that Kmart Holding Corp. announced Monday that James D. Donlon III, a former DaimlerChrysler AG vice president, will join the company as chief financial officer and senior vice president.
Kmart also announced that John D. Goodman will join the company as chief apparel officer. Both will report to Julian Day, the Troy-based retailer's president and chief executive.
"The hiring of these two experienced and successful executives continues to strengthen our senior management team," Day said in a written statement.
At Chrysler, Donlon was senior vice president-controller and a member of the Chrysler Group Executive Committee. Before his appointment, the reorganized Kmart had no CFO since emerging from bankruptcy.
Goodman is a former executive at Gap Inc. Lisa Schultz, who joined Kmart as chief creative officer in September, also previously worked at Gap.
