Collins & Aikman Receives KIA Motors America, Inc.'s 'Most Valued Partner' Award
TROY, Mich., Nov. 21, 2003 -- Collins & Aikman Corporation today announced that it had received a 2003 supplier award from KIA Motors America, Inc. Of the long list of KIA Accessory Suppliers, Collins & Aikman was one of only five suppliers to receive KIA's distinguished "Most Valued Partner" award. The award was presented at KIA's annual Supplier Awards Banquet in Las Vegas, NV on Thursday, November 6, 2003.
KIA's "Most Valued Partner" award recognizes those KIA Motors America, Inc. (KMA) suppliers who have excelled in providing high quality production and service parts in a timely manner, while maintaining superb customer relations. KMA evaluated all suppliers based on product quality, communication, delivery timing, packaging/shipment documentation, warranty administration, and marketing support. Of the 360 total possible points for 2003, Collins & Aikman finished with 363 points due to bonus points received for providing service that was above and beyond KIA's expectations. This is the fourth consecutive year that Collins & Aikman has received a KIA "Valued Partner" award. This year's award represents another major accomplishment for both the Global Soft Trim Division and the Holmesville, Ohio manufacturing facility.

Collins & Aikman's Holmesville manufacturing facility is home to over 300 employees who produce approximately 6 million mat sets annually. The Holmesville facility is currently responsible for supplying floor mats for the KIA Sedona, Spectra, and Sportage vehicles.
