Syncata Taps Automotive Retail Veteran to Help Manufacturers Reduce Marketing and Distribution Costs

EL SEGUNDO, Calif.--Nov. 2, 20030, 2003--Syncata Corporation, a business consulting and systems integration firm servicing the automotive industry, has tapped Bill Ewing, a former Mazda North America, AutoNation USA and American Suzuki Motors executive with more than 15 years of experience to join its automotive practice as a subject matter expert in automotive retail and distribution, effective immediately.

"Bill joins us at a time when there are significant opportunities for automotive manufacturers to reduce their marketing and distribution costs," said Shervin Talieh, director, automotive west, Syncata. "His expertise in distribution processes and best practices, management and technology will help clients conceptualize, design, develop and implement solutions to meet today's critical business challenges," Talieh continued.

Prior to joining Syncata, Ewing was with Mazda North America as a corporate manager where he led the development and launch of their retail strategy, which included the integration of new sales and service processes, technologies and physical retail design. Before Mazda, he was director of dealer development at AutoNation USA and was active in identifying strategic markets and facilitating mergers and acquisition activities. During his stint at AutoNation the firm acquired more than 350 dealerships representing over $13 billion in annual revenue. He started at American Suzuki Motors, where he helped restructure the company's automotive retail sales operations and was instrumental in defining and managing the company's strategic marketing initiatives.

"Automotive manufacturers are looking to differentiate their brand experience, and really close the gap between the automotive car buying experience and consumer expectations," Ewing said. "Syncata is positioned to help manufacturers drive cost reductions and efficiency gains in both retail and distribution," Ewing added.
