Modine To Supply Engine Cooling and Air Conditioning Modules on the All -- New 2004 Dodge Durango
RACINE, Wis.--Nov. 1, 20038, 2003--Modine Manufacturing Company announced today it's beginning to supply both the engine cooling and air conditioning modules for the Chrysler Groups all- new Dodge Durango sport utility vehicle. This is the first time for Modine to supply the Dodge Durango platform."Modine is pleased to continue to expand our relationship with the Chrysler Group," said Tony Coats, General Sales Manager at Modine. "We have collaborated with the Chrysler Group for the past four years to support the development of this program, and Modine is proud to be part of the new 2004 Dodge Durango."
The Dodge Durango cooling modules utilize an innovative side-by-side mounting strategy. This technology allows the cooling air to flow through both modules in parallel rather than in a more typical series airflow system. The benefits of this technology allows for optimized heat exchangers due to the more efficient use of the available air, improved air conditioning performance, and also less vehicle weight.
The modules include a number of products from several Modine plants in North America. The engine-cooling module will feature a radiator from Clinton, Tennessee; power steering oil cooler from Harrodsburg, Kentucky; and a PF(R) transmission oil cooler from Richland, South Carolina. The final assembly of this module will take place in Clinton, Tennessee. The air conditioning module will feature a PF(R) condenser from McHenry, Illinois, and a purchased electric fan and shroud assembly that will then be assembled in McHenry, Illinois.
Modine specializes in thermal management components, bringing heating and cooling technology to diversified markets.
