Ampco System Parking Contracts with City of Springfield, Missouri

LOS ANGELES--Nov. 1, 20037, 2003--Ampco System Parking, a wholly-owned subsidiary of ABM Industries Incorporated , has expanded its service to the state of Missouri with a recently awarded contract with the City of Springfield. Ampco will provide parking services and management for a 189-space surface lot serving the Jordan Valley Ice Park, as well as the five-level, 977-space Jordan Valley Car Park, which serves the Jordan Valley Ice Park, Springfield Exposition Center, Hammons Field and Hammons Tower. The Jordan Valley Car Park is an instrumental facility in Jordan Valley Park, a large-scale Center City revitalization project envisioned in a citizen-driven long-range planning process and supported by voters.

"Ampco System Parking is excited to bring our services for the first time to Missouri," said Thomas Barnett, president of Ampco System Parking. "We look forward to providing the latest technology and parking management for the City of Springfield's new Jordan Valley Car Park, which was recently completed in September, as well as a surface lot that services one of Missouri's foremost recreational ice and sports entertainment facilities," he added.

Established on February 18, 1838, Springfield has long been known for its homes, schools and churches, and since World War II many distinguished industries have been developed. Downtown Springfield is currently experiencing redevelopment and revitalization that complements the Jordan Valley Park development to create a hub of entertainment and business activity in the center city. Springfield has almost 200 churches, six colleges and 42 parks, and the City takes pride in many cultural organizations, among which are the Springfield Art Museum, Springfield Symphony, Springfield Little Theatre and the History Museum for Springfield-Greene County.

Ampco System Parking is an industry leader, operating over 1,700 lots and garages in 30 states, including parking facilities at or adjacent to such major international airports as Buffalo, Cincinnati, Denver, Honolulu, Houston, Los Angeles, Orlando, Philadelphia and San Francisco.
