Wallace Tsuha Appointed to Gentex Board of Directors; Board Declares Recurring Quarterly Cash Dividend
ZEELAND, Mich., Nov. 17, 2003 -- Gentex Corporation , the Zeeland, Michigan-based manufacturer of automatic-dimming rearview mirrors and commercial fire protection products, today announced that Wallace K. Tsuha has been appointed to the Company's Board of Directors. Tsuha will serve as a director until the Company's Annual Meeting of Shareholders on May 13, 2004. The Company's Board of Directors intends to nominate Tsuha for election by the Company's shareholders at the annual meeting.
The Company's Board of Directors also approved a continuing resolution to pay a quarterly cash dividend of $0.15 per share until the Board of Directors takes other action with respect to the payment of dividends. The next quarterly dividend of $0.15 per share will be payable January 22, 2004, to shareholders of record of the common stock at the close of business on January 8, 2004. The ex-dividend date is January 6, 2004. Due to the required period of time for the settlement of stock trades, this means that you must have purchased shares of Gentex common stock on or before January 2, 2004, in order to receive this cash dividend.
Tsuha is chairman and chief executive officer of Saturn Electronics & Engineering, Inc. in Auburn Hills, Michigan, a global supplier of automotive electronics, electrical wiring, and electro-mechanical products to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and their first tier suppliers.

Tsuha is chairman of the Asian Pacific American Chamber of Commerce. He is a member of the Minority Business Round Table, as well as the Office for the Study of Automotive Transportation. He lives in Rochester Hills, Michigan, with his wife, Kim.
