Mazda American Credit Offers Payment Deferrals to California Wildfire Victims

FRANKLIN, Tenn., Nov. 13, 2003 -- Mazda American Credit is offering customers affected by the recent wildfires in Southern California the opportunity to defer up to two vehicle payments.

Under Mazda American Credit's Disaster Relief Program, customers are given the opportunity to defer these monthly payments without paying extension fees. Customers living in five Southern California counties -- Los Angeles, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego and Ventura -- may be eligible because of extensive damage in those areas.

"Just like Mazda and our Mazda dealers, we at Mazda American Credit pride ourselves on strong relationships with our customers," said Peter Donnelly, vice president of Mazda Brand for Mazda American Credit. "We hope to provide some relief to customers in this stressful situation."

Mazda American Credit customers eligible for the Disaster Relief Program will receive letters within the next few weeks with instructions on how to register. They must register by December 18 to qualify. Any payments deferred will be due at the end of the contract term. Customers who have not received a letter, but believe they qualify, may call (800) 945-4000 for more information.

Mazda American Credit partners with Mazda North American Operations and Mazda dealerships across America to bring driving excitement to the nation's roads. For information on Mazda vehicles, visit www.mazdausa.com .
