Nissan Announces $22,400 MSRP for 2004 Titan Pickup; Nissan's First Entry in Full-Size Truck Market Offers Power, Innovation and Value
DETROIT--Nov. 1, 20033, 2003--Nissan North America, Inc. (NNA) today announced starting Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Prices (MSRP) of $22,400 and $25,100 for its breakthrough 2004 Nissan Titan King Cab and Titan Crew Cab full-size pickups, respectively, which go on sale in early December at Nissan dealerships nationwide.The Titan is Nissan's first entry into the full-size truck market, joining the full-size Nissan Pathfinder Armada sport utility vehicle (SUV), which went on sale in October. Both the Titan and Pathfinder Armada are assembled at Nissan's new $1.43 billion manufacturing facility in Canton, Mississippi.
Unique Product Attributes and Unique Pricing Philosophy
Every 2004 Titan features a powerful 305-horsepower/379 lb-ft torque-rated 5.6-liter Nissan Endurance V8 engine, standard 5-speed automatic transmission and a wide variety of available innovations such as the High-Utility Bed with Utili-track(TM) channel tie-down system and standard Wide-Open rear doors on all King Cab models. Properly equipped, Titan can tow up to 9,500 pounds and offers class-leading 4x4 specifications such as front & rear Active Brake Limited Slip traction control (ABLS) for unparalleled off-roading, standard Tire Pressure Monitor System (TPMS), and class-leading rear axle ground clearance.
The Titan is offered in two body styles, Titan King Cab, with its innovative Wide-Open rear doors that open 168 degrees for easier passenger and cargo access to the rear compartment, and Titan Crew Cab, with four full-size doors and a generous cabin that offers best-in-class overall interior room, headroom and legroom. Both the King Cab and Crew Cab are available in a choice of 2-wheel drive or 4-wheel drive and in three trim levels, XE, SE and LE.
"Titan enters the highly competitive, incentive-laden full-size truck segment with not only unique product attributes but with a unique value pricing philosophy," said Jed Connelly, senior vice president sales and marketing, Nissan North America. "We are pricing Titan with realistic MSRPs that we believe will be closer to the actual prices consumers will pay -- rather than pricing higher with room factored in from the beginning for heavy incentives and discounting."

"Our new Titan offers lower MSRPs and more standard features than comparable 2004 Ford F-150, Chevy Silverado and Dodge Ram models," said Connelly. "It's a strategy that consumers should appreciate because it makes the true value of the new Titan easier to see -- just as with the 350Z, Altima, Xterra, Murano and other breakthrough Nissan models."
Available Titan equipment packages include the Off-Road Package with three additional skid plates, lower rear axle ratio, Rancho(R) gas shocks, P285/70R17 BFGoodrich off-road tires and more for $550 - 1000 (depending on model); the High-Utility Bed Package with Utili-track channel tie-down system, bedside lock-box storage and spray-in bedliner for $900; and the Big Tow Package, with receiver hitch, lower axle ratio, wiring harness, extendable convex tow mirrors, A/T temp gauge and Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) for $850 (4x2)/$600 (4x4). Titan Crew Cab equipment packages also include the Nissan DVD Mobile Theater System with drop-down rear monitor and integrated DVD player with wireless headphones for $1,450. Both cab styles offer class-leading safety equipment including side curtain air bags that offer class exclusive side-impact and rollover protection. Other available amenities include a factory installed DVD navigation system.
Popularly equipped, a Titan King Cab SE 4x2 with the SE Popular (incl. power captains chairs) and High-Utility Bed packages will have a MSRP of around $26,500 -- about $3,000 less than the MSRP of a comparably equipped Ford 150. A popularly equipped Titan Crew Cab SE 4x2 with the SE Popular and High-Utility Bed packages will have a MSRP of around $28,900 -- about $2,600 less than the MSRP of a comparably equipped Ford 150.

The Nissan Titan has already been singled out for multiple awards. Both Four Wheeler and Sport Truck magazines named the Titan its 2004 Truck of the Year. Also, Smart Money magazine selected Titan over its competitors for its Smart Money Award.
