Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A. Announces Management Changes

TORRANCE, Calif., Nov. 12, 2003 -- Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. (TMS) today announced the below-listed organizational changes.

Tony Fujita, vice president, Global Knowledge Center, has accepted a key global assignment at Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) in Japan. Effective January 1, 2004, Fujita will leverage his extensive automotive experience, assisting TMC's Domestic Sales Division with the launch of the Lexus brand in Japan, slated for 2005.

Organizational changes effective immediately include:

John Kramer, formerly corporate manager, private distributors, is appointed corporate manager, Global Knowledge Center. Kramer reports to Bryan Bergsteinsson, group vice president, University of Toyota. Established in 2002, the Global Knowledge Center advances the principles of continuous improvement and respect for others, pillars of "The Toyota Way," throughout the company's worldwide sales and marketing organizations.

Ron Broughman, formerly corporate manager of fleet, Toyota Rent-A-Car and Toyota Certified Used Vehicles, was named corporate manager, private distributors, replacing Kramer. Broughman reports to Alan DeCarr, group vice president, sales - Toyota Division.

Al Smith, formerly corporate manager, strategic projects, is appointed corporate manager of fleet, Toyota Rent-A-Car and Toyota Certified Used Vehicles, replacing Broughman. Smith reports to Al Cabito, group vice president, sales administration.

Brian Smith, formerly general manager, Denver region, assumes the newly established position of corporate manager, truck operations. Brian Smith continues to report to DeCarr.

David Pina, formerly assistant general manager, Kansas City region, is promoted to general manager, Denver region, replacing Brian Smith. Pina also reports to DeCarr.

Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., (TMS) Inc. is the sales, marketing, distribution and customer service arm of Toyota, Lexus and Scion in the United States, marketing products and services through a network of over 1400 Toyota and Lexus dealers in 49 states. Established in 1957, TMS and its subsidiaries are also involved in logistics, motorsports, R&D and general aviation.
