Rockwell Automation Announces Selection of James Gelly as Senior VP and CFO

Rockwell Automation today announced that James Gelly will become Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, effective January 5, 2004. Gelly will succeed Michael A. Bless who, earlier this year, announced his intention to leave Rockwell Automation. Bless will remain with the company and work closely with Gelly to help ensure a smooth and orderly transition. Until recently, Gelly, 43, served as Vice President and Treasurer of Honeywell International, a Fortune 100 company and one of the world's largest diversified technology and manufacturing companies. Gelly joined AlliedSignal in 1994 and served in various finance and investor relations positions, including Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of AlliedSignal's Aerospace Services unit. At Rockwell Automation, he will report to Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer, Don H. Davis. Mr. Davis said, "We are delighted to welcome James Gelly to our senior management team. He brings extensive and highly relevant experience in the manufacturing sector to Rockwell Automation. He is an executive with a broad base of experience and a superior track record in financial management and related disciplines. Prior to joining AlliedSignal, Gelly spent over seven years at General Motors Corporation, most recently as Director, Capital Planning and Investor Relations. In this capacity, he was responsible for devising and implementing communication strategies with the investment community and ratings agencies, as well as forecasting and analyzing earnings, cash flow, and capital structure. Gelly received his MBA from the Darden Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Virginia, and degrees from Davidson College in North Carolina and the University of St. Andrews in Scotland.
