Heisman Winner Herschel Walker Gives His Top 2003 Heisman Picks on Official Fan-Voting Site www.voteheisman.com

- College Football Fans Can Cast an Actual Counted Heisman Vote and See How Their Picks Stack up Against 1982 University of Georgia Winner -

NEW YORK, Nov. 6 -- To bring attention to www.voteheisman.com -- the official Downtown Athletic Club (DAC) Web site giving college football fans the opportunity to cast an actual counted vote in this year's Heisman Trophy race -- 1982 Heisman winner Herschel Walker has thrown out his own unofficial Heisman picks.

"This year's race is wide open," explained Walker. "And although there are many athletes that could win, I see five players as deserving the most attention right now."

College fans can see how Walker's picks compare with their own, the fans and the experts -- and cast a counted vote of their own -- at www.voteheisman.com , created by the DAC to increase fan involvement in college sports' most prestigious award.

In the past, the Heisman Trophy was determined by votes from the athletic press and past Heisman winners only. However, this year, fans have the opportunity to have their vote counted by logging on to www.voteheisman.com and casting an official ballot online. Different from other Heisman Web sites, this is the only place where fans can cast an official vote that will be counted in the final Heisman contest.

In addition to voting, Web site visitors can track player rankings, read a weekly column by Walker and learn about current candidates, past winners and Heisman history. Fans can compare Walker's picks and their own to the ESPN Experts Poll at http://espn.go.com/ncf/heisman/index.html .
