AUTOXRAY SURPASSES Other TOOLS in Kett ENgineering REVIEW Research Shows EZ Scan tool Outshines Competitors
LAS VEGAS, Nov. 5, 2003 -- AutoXray, the leading provider of cost-effective automotive diagnostic scanners, today announced that Kett Engineering, a fifty-year-old automobile test service company with customers like General Motors, BMW, & Honda, declared that the AutoXray EZ Scan would be a technician's top choice when compared with five other leading scan tools.

"The EZ Scan is on track to become one of the most used scanners on the market," stated Richard A. Reed, Director of National Sales and Marketing, for Kett Engineering. "It is self- powered, fast and easy to connect to the vehicle for scanning, which is good for the flat rate technician," he continued, and this unit seems to be a higher-end unit with a lower-end price because of its diagnostic ability, productivity and profitability prospects. It would be the technician's one to have," Reed concluded.
"We knew the EZ Scan was a terrific product for technicians as well as do-it-yourselfers," said Bill Miller, President of AutoXray, "and it's great to have a prestigious organization like Kett validate that by simply comparing our product to the competition code by code, and situation by situation. Between this and our recent Motor Top 20 Tool ranking, the industry is finally taking us seriously as an option for technicians."
A total of five scanners and two code readers were used for this project. * Actron Kal-Equip 9640A * Actron Super Scanner CP9145 * AutoXray EZ-Read 1000 (Code reader) * AutoXray EZ-Reader 2000 (Code reader) * AutoXray EZ-Scan 6000 * OTC Genisys Deluxe * Snap-On Tools MT2500
Kett technicians conducted the evaluation as follows: All equipment was delivered to Kett with the necessary hardware and latest software to perform scanning on vehicles with the latest OBD II (On Board Diagnostics) systems. Once the vehicles were stabilized, the scanner was configured and the technician reported all available trouble code data and scanner/vehicle features. The technician induced two separate system failures; the failures were performed one at a time. The induced failure was repaired and the code was rescanned and checked for code status, then erased. The ability of each scanner and code reader to read, recheck status and erase codes was then reported. Kett also weighed costs and ease of use in their report.
From this study, Kett concluded that:
"The AutoXray EZ-Scan 6000 was proven to be the best choice for any automotive repair person -- from the do-it-yourselfer to the professional technician. The EZ-Scan 6000 currently has no vehicle model year limitations, and during the testing phase, it was the only scanner that would communicate with the 2004 Ford F-250, which uses the recently mandated, CAN (Control Area Network) protocol. It was also the only self-powered unit in the comparison test, which made connecting it to the vehicles both quick and easy.
The EZ-Scan 6000 is reasonably priced, packaged with all necessary cables and software, and includes free updates for the lifetime of the product. AutoXray's customer support was also found to be competent and helpful."
