Mr. Clean AutoDry(TM) Carwash Is 'MOTOR TREND Approved'
LAS VEGAS, Nov. 4, 2003 -- PRIMEDIA Inc., the leading targeted media company, announced today that Procter & Gamble's new Mr. Clean AutoDry Carwash is the first automotive product to earn the "MOTOR TREND Approved" label.
The Mr. Clean AutoDry Carwash system combines a sprayer, polymer soap and a de-ionizing water filter that eliminates the need to hand dry an automobile with towels or a chamois. A spot-free finish is guaranteed.
"It looks like carwash technology has finally caught up with today's high- tech automobile finishes, because Mr. Clean AutoDry Carwash works as promised," said Kevin Smith, MOTOR TREND editor-in-chief. "We think Mr. Clean AutoDry Carwash is better for vehicle surfaces because it eliminates dirty buckets and swirl marks caused by hand drying."
After Mr. Clean AutoDry Carwash was tested and approved by the editors of MOTOR TREND, PRIMEDIA entered into an agreement with P&G to allow the use of the "MOTOR TREND Approved" label on packaging and in promotional materials. Mr. Clean AutoDry Carwash is the first product to earn that designation.
"It was very important for us to earn the respect of such a trusted automotive magazine that is known for giving great insight to people who are passionate about cars," said Bob Gilbreath, brand manager for Mr. Clean. "This is Mr. Clean's first automotive product and we're entering the category with two big claims: a spot-free finish and no hand drying. It helps to have someone impartial give us the thumbs up."
"We are thrilled to have Mr. Clean AutoDry Carwash and P&G as a partner in the MOTOR TREND Approved Program," said Sean Holzman, Vice-President of PRIMEDIA Enterprises.
Mr. Clean AutoDry Carwash will be available in stores beginning February 2004. Until then, it is available at www.autodry.com or by calling 1-800-208-0172.
