Exxon MobilCorp: Mobil 1 Launches Scholarship Program for NASCAR Technical Institute Students

FAIRFAX, Va.--

ExxonMobil today announced the creation of six Mobil 1 Scholarships to
be awarded to students enrolled at the NASCAR Technical Institute
(NTI) in Mooresville, N.C. The Mobil 1 Scholarships will provide
$5,000 scholarships to help selected students pursue their automotive
technician career goals.

The NASCAR Technical Institute is the exclusive educational partner of
NASCAR and is the country's first technical training school to combine
a complete automotive technology program and a NASCAR-specific
motorsports program.

"As the world's leading synthetic motor oil, and as the 'Official
Motor Oil of NASCAR'," Mobil 1(R) is proud to support future
automotive technicians who are integral to providing expert
preventative maintenance and lubrication advice, both to professional
race car drivers and to everyday car owners," said Marni Mirowitz,
automotive marketing manager, ExxonMobil Lubricants & Specialties.
"It's only natural that we support the sport's future technicians.
Many of these men and women will go into the auto industry, taking
care of highly sophisticated street cars and some of the high-tech
machines racing in some of the most demanding motorsports conditions
in the world."

To be eligible for a Mobil 1 Scholarship students must:

-- be an enrolled NTI student in good standing,

-- have completed nine of the 19 training modules at the NASCAR
Technical Institute,

-- submit a 200-word essay explaining his/her automotive work
experience, automotive related career goals and desire to enter into
the automotive aftermarket industry, and

-- must have a 3.0 or better grade point average.

The final decision as to scholarship recipients is the determination
of the Universal Technical Institute faculty and Scholarship Selection
Board. All requirements for the Mobil 1 Scholarships can be obtained
from the NTI Student Services office.

The Mobil 1 Scholarships were developed in conjunction with NASCAR to
address the shortage of automotive technicians. The Institute is
located in Mooresville, N.C., better known as Race City USA, where
nearly 75 percent of NASCAR teams are based.
