ZAP CEO Says Chinese Partners Can Import 'Thousands' of Electric Cars
SANTA ROSA, Calif., Nov. 4, 2003 -- In an interview with MoneyTV, Steve Schneider, CEO for electric car company ZAP (BULLETIN BOARD: ZAPZ) , said its manufacturing partners in China have the ability to import thousands of unit to North America.

Schneider has been meeting with auto dealers and large fleet customers in various parts of the country to accelerate ZAP's electric car sales. In particular, Schneider says ZAP's manufacturing partners for the electric cars in China and have the ability to import thousands of units into North America by next year. ZAP introduced the new electric cars in September at the Michelin Challenge Bibendum in Sonoma, California, where the car received the highest scores in five performance criteria. While the event hosted advanced transportation technologies from automotive groups around the world, Schneider says that ZAP had the only production electric automobile available for sale.
