Decoma Debuts Innovative Lighting Technology at SEMA 2003

CONCORD, Ontario, Nov. 4, 2003 -- Decoma International has brought innovative technology to the SEMA show floor again for 2003, debuting today a new headlamp/tail lamp system on the Chrysler PT Coupe concept vehicle on display at the Decoma booth (#23259 in the Racing & Performance section).

"SEMA always provides Decoma the opportunity to showcase unique concepts to our customers," said Decoma President and CEO Al Power. "Lighting is a very important growth area for Decoma and we are excited to demonstrate some of our capabilities here this week."

The headlamps feature a bi-xenon system in a parabolic-style lamp assembly, highlighted by a unique approach to switching between low and high beams. These features support HID lighting for both functions in a very small package.

The highly styled tail lamps are powered by LEDs using indirect lighting, light piping and reflector optics. LEDs offer lower power consumption, improved safety with almost instant light up, and unlimited styling potential.

Both the headlamps and tail lamps were designed, developed and delivered in less than two months by Decoma's Autosystems division.
