Ann Arbor IT Zone and Automation Alley Host 'Info Tech Meets Auto Tech'

PLYMOUTH, Mich., Nov. 4 -- Vince Morrotti, DaimlerChrysler vice president and chief technology officer, and Tony Scott, General Motors chief technology officer for Information Systems and Services, will discuss information technology at the second annual joint event hosted by the Ann Arbor IT Zone and Automation Alley. "Info Tech Meets Auto Tech," moderated by WJR Radio 760-AM "Internet Advisor" Gary Baker, will be held on November 18, 2003, from 5 - 8 p.m. at St. John's Golf & Conference Center in Plymouth.
"Info Tech Meets Auto Tech" will highlight strategic planning and the use of technology in the automotive industry. Baker will lead Morrotti and Scott through a discussion of technology failures and successes as well as an audience question and answer session.

Morrotti is responsible for the DaimlerChrysler IT technical infrastructure, including data, voice, satellite, and video networks as well as computer operations and services for worldwide communication and computing across the enterprise for all employees, plants, suppliers, and dealers. Additionally, Morrotti is responsible for data security, IT knowledge and skills management, IT balanced scorecard metrics, and the planning of the IT strategy.
Scott is responsible for defining the information technology computing and telecommunications architecture and standards across all of General Motors' global enterprise. He provides leadership in the areas of IT architecture and standards, and emerging technology.
