Fortunato Named President of Goodyear's Latin America Region

AKRON, Ohio, Nov. 4, 2003 -- Eduardo A. Fortunato, who has held a number of key sales, marketing and general management leadership positions during his 28-year career, has been named president of The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company's Latin American tire business.

Fortunato, 50, has been serving as president and managing director of Goodyear Brazil since 2000. He will replace Chris W. Clark, who has been named the company's senior vice president of global sourcing.

"Eduardo is a proven leader who has demonstrated a sharp understanding of the Latin American market and of our customers," said Robert J. Keegan, Goodyear's chairman and chief executive officer.

Chris Corcoran, currently director of sales and marketing, Latin America, has been named president and managing director, Goodyear Brazil, succeeding Fortunato.

Fortunato, who joined Goodyear in 1975 in the Engineered Products sales group in Argentina, was named manager, sales, Engineered Products in 1988. He moved to the company's tire business in Argentina as a marketing manager in 1989. He was named dealer development manager in Argentina in 1992. One year later, Fortunato moved to Goodyear Mexico in the same position. He was named sales director, Mexico in 1994.

In 1998, Fortunato moved to Goodyear's corporate headquarters in Akron as director, sales and marketing, for the company's Latin America region, a position he held until being named to his most recent position in Brazil.

A native of Argentina, Fortunato holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from the University of Buenos Aires and a Master of Science degree in marketing from the University of Palermo in Buenos Aires.
