DENSO Donates US$100,000 to Aid California Wildfire Victims
SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Nov. 3, 2003 -- The DENSO North America Foundation today donated $100,000 to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. The contribution is earmarked for victims of the Southern California wildfires.
"Our thoughts and sympathy go out to the thousands of California residents, firefighters and disaster relief workers who have suffered throughout this trying time," said Tony Takeuchi, chairman and chief executive officer of DENSO International America, Inc.
"We hope we can help some of those affected families, businesses and communities recover from their losses," said Takeuchi, who is the foundation founder and advisor.
DENSO operates three companies in Southern California communities:
* DENSO Wireless Systems Inc., and LA Laboratories, a division of DENSO International America, Inc., in Vista, Calif.;
* DENSO Sales California, in Long Beach, Calif.; and, * American Industrial Manufacturing Services, in Murrieta, Calif.
DENSO Wireless Systems and LA Laboratories is located in San Diego County, the hardest hit of the five counties besieged by wildfires.
In addition, employees of DENSO Wireless Systems and LA Laboratories have made a collective contribution of $1,000 to the San Diego chapter of the Red Cross.
