SikaLastomer(R)-65 and SikaLastomer(R)-95 Product Shelf Life Extended to 18 Months

MADISON HEIGHTS, Mich., Oct. 31, 2003 -- Sika Corporation, Industrial Business Unit announces effective immediately, a shelf life extension on all SikaLastomer(R)-65 and SikaLastomer(R)-95 butyl products. Shelf life on these formulations increases from 12 to 18 months. The ability to extend shelf life on these products follows extensive Sika Research and Development testing on various lots of manufactured material in multiple configurations.

SikaLastomer(R)-65 Isobutylene-Isoprene Copolymer and SikaLastomer(R)-95 Isobutylene Tripolymer butyl sealant formulations are used widely in the Metal Construction, Transportation and Construction industries for seam sealing. SikaLastomer(R) formulations have been specially developed for sealing bolted lap joints of galvanized and epoxy painted metals and for sealing concrete, EPDM rubber sheeting, metal and ceramic sewer pipes, glass, plastics, polyethylene sheeting and wood. All SikaLastomer(R) products are manufactured to stringent tolerances in extruded rolls and pre-cut endlap pads in various geometries, widths and lengths including SikaLastomer(R) "wide-roll" products.
