2004 International CES Adds New Events to Make It the World's Largest Mobile Electronics Showcase

If you are looking to see the latest in GPS, telematics, mobile entertainment, car audio, satellite radio or security - the 2004 International CES has it in more than 275,000 square feet of space with more than 260 international mobile technology exhibitors. The 2004 International CES, housing the world's largest mobile electronics tradeshow, returns to Las Vegas January 8-11.
"During the International CES, the North Hall and Gold Lot of the Las Vegas Convention Center is transformed into a virtual world of the hottest in-car technology for consumers," said Karen Chupka, vice president of events and conferences for the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), the producer of CES. "In addition, top automotive executives from Ford, GM, Honda and others gather at CES to conduct business and learn about the latest technologies to hit the mobile marketplace."
The more than 30,000 mobile leaders and installers in attendance won't want to miss the new NOPI Showcase in the Gold Lot. This area displays a plethora of aftermarket automobile accessories such as wheel and tire suspension, body kits, engine performance, car care and safety products; tented exhibits; tractor trailer exhibits; show car area and a stage complete with a DJ, music and entertainment.
"More and more, electronic retailers are getting into and stocking performance aftermarket parts," said Mike Myers, president of NOPI. "NOPI is part of this world and will bring to CES the excitement, passion and experience that is this new generation of car enthusiast."
The 2004 International CES also plays host to one of the mobile electronics industry's most anticipated events, the "Select Products MECP Installer Challenge." Attendees will witness the "best of the best" as installers compete in this two-day mobile installation contest to build the best car in the Gold Lot. CES also will offer MECP testing on-site as well as help attendees stay up-to-speed on the latest technical areas for the professional installer including navigation, multimedia and mobile computing, as well as audio, security, troubleshooting, installation technique and shop safety.
Delphi also will have a presence in the Gold Lot with their first-annual "Delphi Ride." By invitation only, Delphi customers will be able to experience the latest technology in several cars driven around the Las Vegas area.
Acura, the official automotive sponsor of CES, will have its own display in the LVCC Silver Lot with a special showcase of the 270-hp Acura TL with Bluetooth hands-free wireless technology and DVD-Audio--both standard.
In addition, mobile technology is featured throughout the CES show floor in a number of CES TechZones such as the Telematics/Digital Car TechZone sponsored by ITS America, the Mobile Computing TechZone sponsored by Mobile Computing magazine and the Launch TechZone.
CEA's famed TechnoCar will be located in CEA's One Digital World display in the LVCC Grand Lobby. The TechnoCar is equipped with the latest in aftermarket automotive electronics including satellite radio, navigation equipment, video and digital audio technology and electronic gaming.
