Cross Lander USA Celebrates by Unveiling Off-Road Vehicle Set to Make U.S. Debut in Spring 2004
MIAMI--Oct. 2, 2003--Company Executives Reconfirm Commitment to Aro S.A. Agreement, Employees and Romanian Government |
Cross Lander USA formally celebrated its new operating agreement with Romania's Aro S.A. by unveiling two prototypes of the new Cross Lander 244X, a rugged off-road sport recreational vehicle set to make its U.S. debut in the Spring of 2004.
The vehicles, the first to be produced by Cross Lander USA for the U.S. market, are based on a rugged, off-road vehicle line that has been produced for more than 50 years by the national Romanian automotive manufacturer, Aro S.A.
Last month, Cross Lander USA reached an agreement with the Romanian government to purchase the Aro S.A. 4x4 vehicle manufacturing facility as part of the Romanian government's efforts to privatize its auto industry. The agreement was a culmination of a nine-year effort to solidify Cross Lander's commitment to the Romanian government and the employees working at the plant.
Alongside Aro S.A. and Romanian government officials at the 8.5 million square-foot facility in Camplung, Romania, Cross Lander USA President John Perez unveiled the vehicles and further expressed his commitment to the Romanian government, its economy and the Aro employees.
"We at Cross Lander USA have been very impressed with the Romanian people and their dedication and commitment to high quality vehicle production," Perez added. "Our intent is to manufacture a high quality off road vehicle for the world market, which will in turn provide a stronger economy and better lifestyle for our employees and their families."
While Cross Lander was developing its prototype for the U.S. market, company officials built a U.S. dealer network that now consists of more than 90 dealers. It has also developed all the systems for parts, service, warranty, training, and communications.
Perez added that he is grateful for the outpouring of support. "The Romanian government thoroughly assessed our company and we are pleased that this was an agreement that would benefit all parities while allowing for the introduction of a new vehicle to the U.S. market," he added.
Along with the manufacturing facility in Camplung, Cross Lander USA is headquartered in Miami, Florida, and has offices in and Sao Paulo, Brazil. For more information please visit http://www.CrossLander4x4.com.
