CANNON OUT IN FIRST ROUND IN VEGAS

LAS VEGAS (Oct. 26, 2003) - Oakley Time Bomb Dodge Stratus driver Scotty
Cannon qualified No. 8 for the fourth time this season, resulting in his
having to meet the No. 9 qualifier in the first round of the ACDelco Las
Vegas NHRA Nationals. With the No. 8 and No. 9 qualifiers often close in
performance, it's usually anyone's race when they meet.

Cannon met up with Del Worsham in the first round today, with, of course,
lane choice. He selected the more favorable left lane, but then fell victim
to the bump that goes over the walkway. He smoked the tires at that point
and was forced to watch Worsham take the win with a 4.926/315.19 pass to
Cannon's losing 5.446/203.40.

"We were ready, we thought we had the setup just right," said Cannon, "but
we just couldn't clear that bump. It's unfortunate because we really felt we
had a good car under us this weekend. We'll just gather it all up and go to
the final race in Pomona and conclude this season hopefully with a good
result. Winning one of these would be nice."

Cannon is still seeking his first NHRA Funny Car victory and is 14th in the
NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series Funny Car point standings.
