Nissan to Reduce 170 Japanese Sales Firms to 100

TOKYO October 25, 2003; Japan Today reported that Nissan Motor Co plans to trim about 170 domestic sales companies to 100 by 2005 in a fresh bid to reorganize its sales network and boost domestic sales, the Nihon Keizai Shimbun reported Saturday.

The leading business daily said Nissan is aiming to boost domestic sales, the final undertaking of its structural reforms under President Carlos Ghosn. (Kyodo News
