DaimlerChrysler Unveils 'On the Edge' Art Collection at the DIA
- DaimlerChrysler 'On the Edge' Curator onsite to discuss the contemporary art collection - DIA only U.S. stop WHAT: DaimlerChrysler will unveil the "On the Edge" art collection at the Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA). The art collection is a global exhibition of 150 pieces of art by approximately 80 artists. The pieces range from classical paintings of the 40s to contemporary renowned works by Andy Warhol as well as lesser known artists. The exhibition includes paintings, drawings, wall objects, photography and video art by European and American artists, plus a selection of artists from Asia, Africa and Australia. The exhibition runs from Friday, October 24, 2003 through - January 18, 2004, at the DIA. Dr. Renate Wiehager, the Curator of the collection from Germany, will be onsite to discuss some of the contemporary pieces and the influence of modern art.
