Federal-Mogul Honors 11 Suppliers for Quality, Delivery and Cost Savings

SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Oct. 22, 2003 -- Federal-Mogul Corporation awarded "Supplier of the Year" honors to 11 of its global parts and materials suppliers for outstanding quality, delivery and cost-saving performance.

The winning companies -- nine from North America and two from Europe -- provide Federal-Mogul with products or materials that the global automotive supplier uses to produce components ranging from brake pads to engine bearings.

"We are proud to recognize this select group of companies, whose performance has enhanced our reputation as a supplier of innovative, high- quality and cost-effective components," said Ramzi Hermiz, vice president, Global Supply Chain.

Those selected as Supplier of the Year in North America were recognized at Federal-Mogul's Supplier Day on Oct. 21, in Livonia, Mich. Federal-Mogul's European suppliers of the year were honored at a recent supplier conference in Frankfurt, Germany.

Companies named by Federal-Mogul as Supplier of the Year are as follows:

* Albany International, a Homer, N.Y., monofilament company that supplies Federal-Mogul Systems Protection plants.

* American Spring Wire, a Bedford Heights, Ohio, shaped steel wire company that supplies Federal-Mogul Piston Rings and Liners plants.

* Asten Johnson Filaments, a Williston, Vt., company that supplies filaments to Federal-Mogul Systems Protection plants.

* Cardolite Corp., a friction products company that supplies Federal- Mogul Friction plants.

* Hitachi Metals Americas Ltd., a Farmington, Mich. company that supplies Federal-Mogul Piston Rings and Liners plants with shaped steel wire products.

* Mount Joy Wire, a Mount Joy, Pa., wire company that supplies Federal- Mogul Sealing Systems plants.

* SGL Carbon Group, a Valencia, Calif., graphite company that supplies Federal-Mogul Sealing Systems plants.

* Tobar Inc., a Columbus, Ind.-based rubber component company that supplies Federal-Mogul Chassis and Brake plants.

* Victory White Metal Company, a Cleveland, Ohio, babbitt bearing alloy company that supplies Federal-Mogul Engine Bearing plants.

* Cartonajes M. Petit, S.A., a Barcelona, Spain, corrugated paper company that supplies Federal-Mogul European Friction plants.

* L.I.M.A. SpA, a Desio, Italy, steel company that supplies Federal-Mogul European Engine Bearing plants.

Awards were also given to 61 suppliers for zero defects, 50 for delivery and three for cost-saving performance.
