Delphi Product & Service Solutions Appoints Brasil Director of South American Operations

TROY, Mich., Oct. 22, 2003 -- Delphi Product & Service Solutions, part of Delphi Corp. , announced the appointment of Edson Brasil, 38, as director, South American Operations, Delphi Product & Service Solutions, effective Nov. 1, 2003. He will report to Francisco A. (Frank) Ordonez, president, Delphi Product & Service Solutions and vice president, Delphi Corporation and to Gabor Deak, president, South America, Delphi Corporation.

In his new position, Brasil will be managing the aftermarket growth strategy in South America, providing products and services to the Independent Aftermarket and Original Equipment Service. Brasil, currently sales and marketing manager for the division's South American Operations since 2001, succeeds Lucia V. Moretti, named marketing director, Delphi Product & Service Solutions.

Brasil joined Delphi in 2001 as sales & marketing manager, Delphi Product & Service Solutions, where he focused in re-structuring the Wholesales Distribution Net conquering the top WD's in South America and building a strong sales & marketing team focused in the aftermarket. During these 2 years, Brasil focused in positioning Delphi's brand as one of the most recognized brands in Brazil through several marketing promotions and in structuring the commercial policy.

Brasil, who has been in the aftermarket business for 23 years, began his career at SKF Bearings as sales administrator and soon after became sales coordinator. In 1986, he joined Valeo/Cibie as a sales promoter and quickly became sales supervisor. After that he held several positions at Logan Filters and Sabo, a Brazilian Multinational Company, specializing in automotive sealed systems, including retainers, seals and gaskets.

Brasil holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Santo Amaro University and earned his post-graduation in marketing at Fundacao Getulio Vargas.
