Force Protection's TSG Division Ships Fourth Buffalo Vehicle

Advanced Vehicle Designed for Landmine Clearance

CHARLESTON, S.C., Oct. 22 -- Force Protection, Inc. (BULLETIN BOARD: FRCP) announced today the shipment of a "Buffalo" Mine Protected Clearance Vehicle. This is the fourth shipment of 2003.

The Buffalo is a highly advanced mine resistant vehicle with multiple mission configurations and specially designed field repairability. Its impressive display of military technology mates South African monocoque capsule design with American automotive technology.

Several upgrades and options are available. The Buffalo can be fitted with steel wheels and a towed disc roller assembly that allow it to rapidly clear anti-personnel mines. It can also be fitted with plates that provide protection against state-of-the-art Self-Forming Fragment Warhead mines. Variants of the Buffalo are also available. It can be configured as an Armored Personnel Carrier (APC) with eighteen-passenger capability. It can also be configured as a command center, anti-riot vehicle, or as a heavy weapons platform. Michael Watts, Force Protection's CEO, stated, "As we continue to deliver this vehicle, it's exciting to see the Buffalo actually in use. All the experience gained from the many years of operational use that have been logged by its predecessors really shows. This vehicle is a real thoroughbred."
