Ultimate Baja Challenge

RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, Calif., (October 20, 2003) - Four years of staging the
most successful "arrive and drive" racing program in motorsports has led to Wide Open Baja

and SCORE International announcing details for the fourth annual "Ultimate Baja Challenge."
Now officially known as the CENTRIX Financial Ultimate Baja Challenge presented by
Yokohama Tire, the event provides adventure seekers, executives, guest race car drivers and
celebrities with the opportunity to race in this year's Tecate SCORE Baja 1000, scheduled to

take place from November 19-23, 2003.
For 2003, the event will be sponsored by Denver-based CENTRIX Financial, LLC, an
innovative financial services and management firm that has brought a unique level of safety,

profitability and fairness to the special finance auto lending market. Last year, one of a trio of
CENTRIX-supported cars took the event victory under the guidance of company Chairman and
CEO Robert E. Sutton, who also co-drove in the class-winning car.  The CENTRIX involvement

in Baja extends beyond the race.  Together with Wide Open, the Company has developed a
unique incentive program for auto dealers that provides them with the opportunity to win a four
day Baja adventure.  In its first six months alone the program helped to nearly double business
provided to CENTRIX from participating dealerships.

"The unique demands and interactive nature of the Baja Challenge are powerful
metaphors for what is required to succeed in our business - outstanding teamwork, tremendous
dedication and the ability to quickly assess and address new challenges," said Sutton, whose

team will be expanded to five cars for 2003.  "Todd Clement, Wide Open and SCORE
International have created one of the most unique racing and adventure events in the world.
We are proud to be stepping up our involvement for this year's race."

Yokohama Tire and its Geolandar brand of tires will return as the presenting partner for
the Baja Challenge.  A long-time supporter of the Wide Open organization -- both in its Baja tour
operation and in the Baja Challenge -- Yokohama will provide event participants with race-
proven tire technology found in their latest Geolandar A/T + II all-terrain radial tires.  The

company will also field a special Geolandar car to be driven by Yokohama celebrity guests and
select members of the media.
"While our association with Wide Open Baja extends well beyond the Ultimate Baja

Challenge, Yokohama Tire is very pleased with the growing influence the event has in the
motorsports and media communities," explained Art Michalik, Director of Marketing
Communications.  "It is the ideal showcase for our Geolandar tire technology.  Together with

CENTRIX Financial, we are looking forward to hosting the largest field in the program's history.
Additional corporate support for Wide Open Baja and the CENTRIX Financial Ultimate
Baja Challenge presented by Yokohama Tire will come from an "A-list" of suppliers including
Bilstein, Snugtop, American Racing Wheel, Eibach, Lowrance, Valvoline, PIAA and AutoMeter.

Created before the once-in-a-lifetime running of the SCORE Baja 2000, the inaugural
running of the event hosted 64 drivers to guide the eight cars over the 1,700-mile non-stop
route.  In 2001, six cars and 36 participants took the green flag, while the Wide Open

organization made SCORE Baja 1000 history last year with all eight of the event cars crossing
the Ensenada finish line.  Wide Open's perfect finishing rate in 2002 represents the largest ever
for a single team or factory entry in the 35-year history of the legendary endurance classic.

Despite the event's success, the staging the Ultimate Baja Challenge is no small
undertaking.  Wide Open Baja, together with SCORE International, Yokohama Tire and
Trackside Performance, will coordinate the logistical challenge of more than 250 crew, staff and
guests; nearly 40 support vehicles, three tractor trailers, over 150 tires, 1500 gallons of high

octane race fuel, a radio communications plane and a chase helicopter.
Each of the Ultimate Baja Challenge entries is funded by individual drivers, groups or
corporations, and features the use of ten specially designed open wheel Wide Open cars that

feature 20" of suspension travel via A-arm suspensions, power steering, four-speed manual
transmissions and highly reliable 2.5-liter Porsche powerplants. The event was created to be
completely turn-key for participants, and includes all vehicle preparation, entry fees, fuel, tires,
driver training, SCORE licensing, hotel accommodations and hospitality.

While the final driver list has yet to be announced, the 2003 version of the event is

expected to include an even larger list of celebrity drivers than in previous years.  The event will
also incorporate a large welcome party and other festivities at "Horsepower Ranch," the
exclusive Wide Open rancho located just east of Ensenada that features 52 guest rooms,

landscaped grounds and the Mad Dog's Carrera Cantina; a full service bar featuring Baja 1000
memorabilia and a special off-road "Hall of Fame."
Based in Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif., Wide Open Adventures has provided high-
speed guided tours of the Baja peninsula to thousands of adventure enthusiasts since 1997,

along with numerous corporate travel programs.   The company's primary shop and office is
located in California, while Baja operations are located in Ensenada and Cabo San Lucas.
