EaglePicher Automotive to Implement Plexus Systems Manufacturing Software

New Web-based ERP System Can Be Accessed Worldwide

INKSTER, Mich., Oct. 17 -- The 17 North American facilities of EaglePicher Automotive will begin implementation of a comprehensive, Web- based enterprise business solution provided by Plexus Systems.

"The unique quality of this system is in its all-inclusive nature," explained Bill Rogers, EaglePicher Automotive information technology director. "The Plexus system will incorporate the more conventional ERP activities of purchasing, sales, accounting, shipping and human resources. It will also encompass our shop floor data collection, quality management, EDI and maintenance functions, among others. It will link virtually every aspect of our operations, allowing us to focus on providing comprehensive customer service."

The program will be implemented in stages over the next several months throughout the North American operations of EaglePicher's Hillsdale and Wolverine Divisions.

"Plexus Online offers a powerful, yet simple-to-use design that enables companies to control, improve and streamline their operations," said Rob Beatty, Plexus Systems president. "A hosted solution like Plexus Online enables manufacturers to focus on their core competencies such as improving quality and customer service."

"This new program will make us much more efficient internally, and improve communication with our customers and suppliers," said EaglePicher Automotive President William Maclean. "And the worldwide access to the system will further improve our response time. We look forward to introducing our employees, suppliers and customers to this innovative solution."
