NHRA Summit Racing Series Finals-Friday from Gainesville Raceway

SOUTHEAST DIVSION SUMMIT FINALS UNDERWAY AT GAINESVILLE RACEWAY
	GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Over 600 of the top racers in NHRA's Southeast division took to the track today for the first day of time trials at the NHRA Summit Racing Series Finals being held at Gainesville Raceway. 
A total of 18 member tracks are expected to complete for team honors this weekend with defending track champions, Music City Raceway, looking to repeat. 
	Friday morning, racers will once again suit up for a round of time trials. Friday afternoon, the top racers from each track in Super Pro, Pro, Pro Bike, Sportsman and High School will compete in the annual Race of Champions. With over $4,700 total up for grabs, the competition will be fierce.  
On Saturday, individual championships in Super Pro, Pro, Super Pro Bike and Sportsman will be crowned. These four winners will qualify for the NHRA Summit Racing Series National Finals, to be held during the Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals, in November at Pomona Raceway in Pomona, Calif. In Pomona, the Southeast Division champs will join champions from NHRA's six other geographic regions to compete for national championships and a "winner-takes-all" $5000 purse    
Gates will open tomorrow at 8 a.m. Time trials begin at 9 a.m., with eliminations for the Race of Champions set to begin in the afternoon. Tickets each day are $10.

Music City Raceway - Nashville, Tenn.
New Bama Dragway - Cordova, Ala.
Northwest Tennessee Motorsports - Huntington, Tenn.
Orlando Speed World Dragway - Orlando, Fla.
Savannah Dragway - Bloomingdale, Ga.
Silver Dollar Raceway - Reynolds, Ga.
Southeastern Int'l Dragway - Dallas, Ga.
