Braselton, GA. - October 15, 2003 The 6th annual Petit Le Mans endurance race is underway in the
rolling foothills of North Georgia at Road Atlanta Motor Sports Center. Hyper Sport is preparing for this 10 hour or
1000 mile race, whichever comes first, as the final event of the American Le Mans Series 2003 season comes to a
close. The #03 Panoz Esperante GT-LM will be competing in the GT class along with an additional 35 entries within
the Le Mans Prototype (LMP) 900, 675 and GTS classes.
Today's test session at Road Atlanta was cut short due to an unfortunate incident at turn 3. The car was
experiencing some brake problems and was sent into a spin which resulted in an impact at the wall outside turn 3.
The Hyper Sport team will be busy working on the GT-LM through the night-time in order to run it in the Thursday
morning practice session at 9:20a.m.
The driver line-up for this weekends' Petit Le Mans includes two locals, Joe Foster and Rick Skelton as well
as Brad Nyberg from Houston, Texas. Foster is the Chief Driving Instructor for the Panoz Racing School and a
seasoned driver within the ALMS. Joe Foster is the lead driver for the Hyper Sport #03 Panoz Esperante. "The car
is continuing to improve as our development program progresses. I'm looking forward to this very challenging race
and setting the paces to this car," states Foster. Skelton, also a local Atlantan, is an Urban Developer specializing in
renovating buildings into loft homes. Both Nyberg and Skelton are graduates of the Panoz Pro Series. Nyberg has
been competing at the professional level for two seasons and entered into the ALMS season starting at the Mobil1 12
Hours of Sebring this past March. As one of the principals of the Hyper Sport group, he brings a wide array of
management experience to help guide the Hyper Sport organization as it grows.
In addition to this exciting race the Hyper Sport fanfare will be heating up the infield with an entertainment
village full of live music all weekend. Racing is the primary focus of the group, but they sure do a good job
entertaining the fans. Local Atlanta bands will be playing on the Hyper Sport stage Friday and Saturday of race
weekend. The bands include: Mooseknuckles, The Future Behind Us, Big Atomic, King Johnson and The Likes of
Which. SPEED Channel will air 7 hours of live race coverage on Saturday, October 18th .
