Spirit Harley-Davidson Takes 'Best Of Show' at Norwalk Bracket Finals
Custom V-Rod(R) Captures Judges as Best Appearing Motorcycle
PITTSBURGH, Oct. 15 -- Kevin Patterson, sponsored by Spirit Harley-Davidson of Glenshaw, PA, recently won Best Appearing Motorcycle for his custom V-rod while racing at the IHRA Summit Bracket Finals in Norwalk.
"We were the only V-Twin to qualify for the Bracket Finals," said Patterson. "We were also the only street bike entered in the race of champions, which requires winning your local points championship for the season to qualify."
Patterson and his V-rod were nominated by his home track, the Pittsburgh Raceway Park, to compete in a "Best of Show" competition among the tracks represented at the event for the "Best Appearing Motorcycle."
"There were many customized drag bikes in the competition, but the custom chrome out look of the Spirit V-Rod won the judges," said Patterson. The V-rod set itself apart on all aspects of the original design concept VRSC:
V-Twin (Only V-twin in the Norwalk IHRA Summit Bracket Finals) R-acing (Pittsburgh Raceway Park Motorcycle Class Championship) S-treet (Only street bike entered in Norwalk IHRA Race of Champions) C-ustom ("Best Appearing Motorcycle" award at Norwalk)
Patterson, 46, works as a business development executive for Computer Sciences Corporation. He and his wife Jane reside in Natrona Heights and have four children ranging in age from 20 to 25 years.
