XPart offers Trafficmaster's Smartnav, as approved accessory across all MG and Rover models

Cranfield, Bedfordshire, UK, October 15 -- XPart, the parts subsidiary of Phoenix Venture Holdings, announces today that it will be offering Trafficmaster's Smartnav, the latest innovation in satellite navigation, as an approved accessory across all MG and Rover models.

Smartnav is an advanced and easy to use satellite navigation system that appeals to a wide range of motorists. It calculates routes using a unique feed of live, incident, historic and predictive traffic data, making it one of the most advanced systems available - whilst being only around one half of the cost of other navigation systems. In addition to dynamic navigation, Smartnav provides additional motoring services, such as emergency and breakdown and two new optional features - Safe Speed and Stolen Vehicle Location.

John Parkinson, managing director, XPart, said: "The Trafficmaster Smartnav offers customers with a new concept in operational simplicity for navigation route selection, with the addition of a concierge service that enables users to find their nearest restaurant, cash point or hotel and even order flowers or Champagne." He added: "This is an excellent addition to the growing XPart accessories range".

David Martell, Chief Executive, Trafficmaster Plc adds "Smartnav is going from strength to strength. This agreement with XPart further endorses the growing appeal of Smartnav and demonstrates how it is changing the navigation market profile."

Smartnav is available priced at £629.47 fitted, including VAT for the standard installation.

About Smartnav

Smartnav represents a major advance in satellite navigation, combining mobile telephony technology developed by Trafficmaster and Motorola, a personal assistant service and traffic information taken from Trafficmaster's established network of sensors and cameras that cover over 8,000 miles of the UK's main roads.

As part of Smartnav's drive to provide customers with up-to-date beneficial services, Safe Speed has been developed to alert drivers to fixed, variable and multi (also known as specs) safety camera sites and Stolen Vehicle Location has been added, which provides a round the clock tracking service.
