Jones Appointed V.P., Heavy Duty Sales And Marketing For Delco Remy

16-Year Company Veteran to Oversee Growing Roster of Original Equipment, Aftermarket Customer Relationships

ANDERSON, Ind., Oct. 14 -- Kent D. Jones has been appointed vice president of heavy duty sales and marketing for Delco Remy, the global leader in advanced electrical systems, starters, alternators and batteries for commercial-vehicle applications.

Jones, who reports to Joseph A. Plomin Jr., senior vice president and general manager of the company's heavy duty and industrial businesses, has held a series of positions with increasing responsibility over his 16-year career with Delco Remy. He most recently was vice president of aftermarket sales and marketing.

Jones, who also has served as Delco Remy's OEM sales manager, regional sales and service manager, manufacturing production supervisor, will have responsibility for all (heavy duty) OE and aftermarket customer relationships. Delco Remy systems and components are standard equipment on millions of medium- and heavy-duty vehicles manufactured worldwide and the dominant choice of aftermarket distributors, service organizations, fleets and owner- operators.

Jones holds a master's degree in business administration from Purdue University's Krannert School of Management, West Lafayette, Ind., and a bachelor of science degree in engineering from Kettering University, Flint, Mich. He is a board member of the Automotive Electric Association segment of the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association and a member of the American Trucking Association Technology & Maintenance Council.

He and his wife, Shawnda, reside in Pendleton, Ind., with their two children.
