Terry Borcheller - Petit Le Mans preview

Terry Borcheller will race at his new home track this week, as he competes in 
the Petit Le Mans, final race in the 2003 American Le Mans Series.  The 
1000-mile race will run Oct. 18 on the 2.54-mile Road Atlanta road course in 
Braselton, Ga.  Borcheller and his family will move from Phoenix to Gainesville, 
Ga., about 20 miles from the track, on Nov. 15.

"The Petit Le Mans is a real exciting race.  It has become one of the feature 
races of the American Le Mans Series, with [the 12 Hours of] Sebring.  It's 
one of the biggest races of the year, from a spectator standpoint, media, 
racers, in every way," Borcheller noted.  "Because this is now going to be my home 
track, it just makes it even more exciting.  I love this area.  I've been 
racing here since 1980."

Darren Law of Phoenix will join Borcheller and Shane Lewis of Jupiter, Fla., 
in the No. 63 ACEMCO Motorsports Ferrari 360 Modena GT for the Petit Le Mans.  
Law and Borcheller have worked together at the Bondurant School of High 
Performance Driving for 10 years and have raced against each other in several 
series.

"Darren and I have been rivals for a long time, but we're also good friends 
and it's good to have him on the team," Borcheller said.  "We had a three-day 
test at Road Atlanta [Oct. 10 to 12] and he had an opportunity to get some seat 
time and get familiar with the Ferrari.  He did fantastic, which we knew he 
would."

K&N returns

K&N Performance Filters has renewed its sponsorship agreement with Borcheller 
for the 2004 race season.  The California company is the world leader in 
performance filter technology, serving the automotive, motorcycle, marine, 
industrial and military industries.  Its motorsport program includes Formula One, 
off-road, powersports, drag racing, stock cars and road racing.

"Our relationship has been nothing but positive from the first race," 
Borcheller said.  "They're so into motorsports and they believe so much in their 
product, it's a win-win for everybody.  It's a tremendous asset to have the best 
filters in the business on my cars, but it has also been a tremendous asset for 
K&N because of the exposure they've received through our 15 wins together.  
We're looking forward to another great season in 2004."

The 1000-mile Petit Le Mans is scheduled for 11:30 am to 9:30 pm on Saturday, 
Oct. 18 on the 2.54-mile Road Atlanta road course in Braselton, Ga.  The race 
will be televised live on SPEED Channel from 11 am to 12:30 pm, 3 pm to 6 pm 
and 7 pm to 9:30 pm.  all times ET
