TI Automotive Uses Innovative Process in Fluid Lines for New Vehicle
WARREN, Mich., Oct. 9, 2003 -- TI Automotive, the world's leading supplier of fluid storage, transfer and delivery systems, has received a contract to supply brake and fuel-tank lines for a "classic" new small car, being built in Britain by a Germany-based automaker.
The components will be manufactured at TI Automotive's facility in Telford, England in volumes of half a million units for the next five years.
Rich Kolpasky, president of the company's Global Fluid Carrying Systems group, noted that TI Automotive's innovative tube-bending technology will be used in the manufacture of the vehicle's brake lines.
"This flexible, high-speed process allows us to react quickly to a new customer product launch," Kolpasky said. "Also, its manufacturing costs are much lower than previous process technology."
