Boris Said to Drive in Round Three of the
Tonka 2003 Super Truck Celebrity
Challenge
BRASELTON, GA (October 9, 2003) – Road course racing specialist and 2002 Trans
Am Series Champion Boris Said has signed on to race in the Tonka 2003 Super Truck
Celebrity Challenge. Said is one of four drivers racing in the third round of the Celebrity
Challenge being held at Road Atlanta as part of the 2003 Petit Le Mans October 15-18.
Other drivers include Jan Magnussen, Shane Lewis and Duncan Dayton.
The Tonka 2003 Super Truck Celebrity Challenge is the exhibition racing series
of STRANA – the Super Truck Racing Association of North America. The first two
Celebrity Challenge events took place at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin in
August. Winners of the first two events were Trans Am Series Driver Justin Bell of
Derhaag Racing and ALMS driver Gunnar Jeanette of JML Team Panoz, respectively.

Boris Said to Drive in Round Three of Tonka 2003 Super Truck Celebrity
Challenge
Said is known as one of the best road racers in the business. In 2003 he won his
first Winston Cup Pole at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, Calif., and finished sixth in the
main event – his best Winston Cup finish to date. Said is also a former regular in the
NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series with 64 starts and one victory at Sears Point in 1998.
ALMS driver Magnussen has raced in Formula One, CART and European road
racing events. He is currently driving for the Riley and Scott team, and in 2002 he won
the American Le Mans Series “From the Fans” award.
Also a “fan favorite,” Lewis is a three-time International Motors Sports
Association (IMSA) Supercar Race winner, and a Daytona Endurance Championship
winner. He has raced in seventeen 24-hour endurance races, seven 12 Hours of Sebring,
and four Petit Le Mans. Dayton began his racing career in high-powered vintage racecars
and he currently drives for Intersport Racing.
The Tonka 2003 Super Truck Celebrity Challenge showcases the superstars of
road racing competing in four prototype STRANA trucks for charity. The races will be
taped for broadcast on ESPN2, and are sanctioned by IMSA.
Tonka signed on as title sponsor of the Celebrity Challenge earlier this year, and
will continue in 2004 as the title sponsor for the Tonka Super Truck Racing Series.
Currently, STRANA plans to run six races in 2004 in conjunction with the ALMS.
