Orbit Racing - Petit Le Mans preview

Petit finale

Orbit Racing is ready for the Petit Le Mans, final race in the 2003 American
Le Mans Series. Leo Hindery of New York and Peter Baron of Deerfield Beach,
Fla., scored a fourth-place GT finish in the 1000-mile endurance race at Road
Atlanta last year. They're hoping for another strong finish on Oct. 18, with
Mike Rockenfeller of Neuwied, Germany, joining them in the No. 43 YES Network
Porsche 911 GT3 RS.

"Other than Le Mans, no track fits Peter and me better than the wonderfully
prepared Road Atlanta. It is always a privilege to race with the most capable
course workers in our sport and in front of such knowledgeable fans," Hindery
said. "We are thrilled to be introducing the exciting Mike Rockenfeller to
the Petit Le Mans as our co-driver, and we're hoping to at least replicate last
year's very strong performance."

Joe and Jay Policastro of Latrobe, Pa., will return in the No. 42 Classic
Industries Porsche, together with Randy Pobst of Gainesville, Ga. The
Policastros want to make up for their last race on the 2.54-mile Braselton, Ga., road
course.

"The spring race was good, but we were taken out of contention when another
car cut Joe off and we had to make an unscheduled stop for a tire replacement,"
Jay Policastro said. "We had two very successful tests at Road Atlanta in
the spring; we feel we have a great setup for a long race. The Orbit crew
always gives us a very consistent, well-prepared car that is suited for
long-distance runs."

$5 Porsche

Fans who donate $5 to Orbit Racing's Victory Laps program will have a chance
to win the use of a Porsche for a week, provided by Porsche Cars North
America. The vehicle is the grand prize in the Victory Laps slot-car competition,
which will be staged near the Michelin Performance Series display at the Petit
Le Mans. Prizes also include a Scalextric slot-car set, a Michelin Man
bobblehead doll and - a special bonus on Friday - dinner served by the Orbit Racing
drivers.

Donations go to the Victory Junction Gang Camp, a summer camp for children
with chronic or life-threatening illnesses, founded by Kyle and Pattie Petty in
memory of their son, Adam. Orbit driver Leo Hindery is a co-founder of the
camp.

track & field

Orbit Racing will move from track to field for the annual ALMS Radio Web
soccer match on Oct 19. Peter Baron and Mike Rockenfeller will join the driver
team, which has won the two previous matches. Jim Balkenloo and Jim Thompson
will play on the crew team.
