SuperMoto or Supermotard is a sport that emerged in the late 1970's though the mid 1980's with the popularity of ABC's Wide World of Sports television series, "Superbikers." SuperMoto or Supermotard encompasses motorcycle road racing with motocross. The course is made of two sections: asphalt and dirt. The asphalt section is set up with a straightaway where racers can pick up speeds of up to 65 MPH.
