Hayes Lemmerz South Africa Operations Earns Top Supplier Award
NORTHVILLE, Mich., Oct. 8, 2003 -- Hayes Lemmerz International, Inc. announced that it has recently been selected as a Volkswagen South Africa's "Supplier of the Year" for 2002. The award was presented at a VWSA supplier's function in George, Cape recently.

The Company also noted that this award follows Hayes Lemmerz South Africa Operations' recent receipt of the 2002 Nissan SA Quality Achievement Award, the nomination of Supplier of the Year Award from Toyota SA, the Q1 Award from Ford Motor, plus TUV Rheinland TS16949 quality certification.
