Delphi and UAW Sign Labor Contract

TROY, Mich., Oct. 8, 2003 -- Delphi Corp. signed today its new labor contract with the International Union, United Automobile, Aerospace, and Agricultural Implement Workers of America, UAW. It covers Delphi UAW employees for the next four years.

"We are very encouraged with the agreement and appreciate all the hard work by both negotiations teams, particularly the leadership of UAW President Ron Gettelfinger and UAW Vice President Dick Shoemaker, throughout the negotiation and ratification processes," said J. T. Battenberg III, chairman, CEO and president.

Additionally, negotiations continue with another major labor partner, the International Union of Electronic, Electrical, Salaried, Machine and Furniture Workers - Communication Workers of America, IUE - CWA.

"Delphi operations have a significant impact on thousands of employees and their communities," Battenberg said. "This agreement, as well as continued dialogue with the UAW, provides a platform to further enhance Delphi's competitive position which we will actively pursue in the near future."
