Team Target Handling the Pressure at Kansas
KANSAS CITY, Kansas (October 5, 2003) --- Casey Mears had a lot more to deal with than 42 other Winston Cup cars at Kansas Speedway on Sunday. The handling of Mears' Dodge was off and his car was loose most of the Banquet 400.
Mears started the race in 12th position, the best of the Ganassi Dodges and as the highest qualifying rookie. Unfortunately, the Target Dodge was ill handling for the majority of the race and Mears finished in 24th position.
"We were loose most of the race," Mears said. "We made some adjustments but we just couldn't get it. The crew guys worked hard today, and we'll just have to get it next week at Charlotte."
Team Target races at Lowe's Motor Speedway next weekend. The race will be broadcast live on NBC television and PRN radio on October 11, 2003 at 7:20 p.m. ET.
