The Coors Light Dodge runs dry at Kansas Speedway

KANSAS CITY, Kan. (October 5, 2003) --- Sterling Marlin was racing for a
top-10 position in Sunday's Banquet 400 at Kansas Speedway when his
Coors Light Dodge ran out of gas and forced him to pit under green with
five laps to go.

Marlin started the race 29th and had worked his way through the field up
to the 16th position in fifty laps despite his car being tight. The
Coors Light crew made adjustments during pit stops and the car continued
to run in the top-15 for the next 200 laps.

Marlin was running in the 11th position and making a strong run for the
top-10 when with five laps remaining he reported that the car had run
out of gas. Marlin coasted onto pit road for a gas-and-go and was able
to finish in the 34th position.

"I am not sure why it happened," Marlin said. "Just bad luck for
another week. We run well at Charlotte though and we are looking forward
to next week's race."

Marlin dropped to 21st place in the Winston Cup championship points.
Ganassi teammates Jamie McMurray and Casey Mears finished 8th and 24th
respectively.

The Coors Light team races at Lowe's Motor Speedway next weekend. The
race will be broadcast live on NBC television and PRN radio on Saturday,
October 11th at 7:30 pm EST .
