Cywinski Scores ASA McDonald's Pole For Tonight's 300

 Salem,  Ind.  (October  4,  2003)  –  Current  ASA  Racing  Series  point’s  leader  Kevin
Cywinski recorded the quickest lap in qualifying for tonight’s Pep Boys 300 presented
by Greased Lightning Orange Blast at Salem Speedway. Cywinski earned a $1,000
bonus  from  McDonald’s  for  qualifying  in  first  position.  The  Wausau,  Wis.,  native
registered an official qualifying time of 17.462 seconds at 111.327 mph. on the .54-mile
oval. Driving the No. 1 Greased Lightning Orange Blast/Great Clips Chevrolet, it marks
the fourth pole of 2003 for Cywinski and ninth of his career.

Minnesota’s  Donny  Reuvers  qualified  in  the  second  position,  tripping  the  clocks  in
17.471 seconds at 111.270 mph, making it an all Country Joe Racing front row. Robbie
Pyle timed in third fastest followed by series veteran Mike Garvey and three-time ASA
National Champion Butch Miller.

The  sixth  starting  spot  was  awarded  to  Wisconsin’s  Rich  Loch  with  Toby  Porter  in
seventh position. Todd Kluever was in eighth, Greg Stewart and Brent Downey round out
the top-10 qualifiers in the 32-car starting field.

The Pep Boys 300 presented by Greased Lightning Orange Blast goes green
tonight at 8 p.m.

Tickets are available through the Salem Speedway ticket office at a cost of $25 for
general admission seats.
