ChevronTexaco Global Lubricants' Diesel Engine Oils Meet New Mack EO-N Premium Plus 03 Engine Oil Specification
SAN RAMON, Calif.--Oct. 3, 2003--Chevron Delo 400 Multigrade SAE 15W-40, Chevron RPM Heavy Duty Motor Oil SAE 15W-40, Texaco Ursa Premium TDX SAE 15W-40 and Texaco Ursa Super Plus SAE 15W-40 Oils Meet New Industry Specification |
ChevronTexaco Global Lubricants (CTGL), a leading provider of heavy-duty engine oils, lubricants and coolants, today announced its Chevron Delo(R) 400 Multigrade, Chevron RPM(R), Texaco Ursa(R) Premium TDX and Texaco Ursa(R) Super Plus heavy-duty engine oils meet the new Mack(R) EO-N Premium Plus 03 engine oil specification. CTGL conducted tests and worked cooperatively with Mack during the development of the new specification.
"The Chevron and Texaco heavy-duty engine oils will appear on the initial Mack EO-N Premium Plus 03 approval list and a service bulletin that will be issued at the end of next week," said Greg Shank, staff engineer - lubrication, filtration & coolant technology for Mack Powertrain. "Both brands have always offered Mack owners the highest quality engine oils and continue that tradition by meeting our new specification."
"As a leader in the heavy duty engine oil market, ChevronTexaco's products continue to meet the highest performance levels in the industry," said Gary Parsons, commercial automotive manager, ChevronTexaco Global Lubricants. "ChevronTexaco's new Mack EO-N Premium Plus 03 compliant engine oils deliver the performance and reliability the market demands."
The new Mack engine oil specification requires increased performance in the areas of soot thickening control, oil shear stability, extended drain capability and low temperature pumpability of sooted oils in low swirl Mack ASET(TM) engines. Compliant oils should perform well in cooled and internal EGR Mack engines, as well as earlier Mack engines without EGR systems. The new specification is based on performance in the Mack T-11 laboratory soot thickening engine test.
In addition to meeting Mack EO-N Premium Plus 03, all of ChevronTexaco's premium heavy-duty multigrade engine oils continue to meet the highest performance requirements for EGR, ACERT, European, Asian and previous generation diesel engines.
ChevronTexaco markets heavy-duty engine oils in North America under the Chevron Delo, Chevron RPM, Texaco Ursa Premium TDX, and Ursa Super Plus trade names.
Consumers wanting oils that meet the new Mack specification should look for the EO-N Premium Plus 03 claim on the label.
