Shelby Automobiles Introduces New Price for CSX 4000 Series Cobras While It Expands Production in New Las Vegas Facility
Introduction of $39,995 Cobra Makes More Accessible To Greater Number of Enthusiasts
LAS VEGAS, Oct. 2 -- Carroll Shelby International, Inc. (BULLETIN BOARD: CSBI) , announced today that its subsidiary Shelby Automobiles, Inc. has inaugurated a new, competitive retail price of $39,995 for its CSX 4000 Series model 427 S/C Cobra. The new pricing structure for this model allows the company to bring its CSX 4000 Series Cobra component vehicles, developed under the direct supervision of the legendary Carroll Shelby, to a greater range of sports car and automotive enthusiasts worldwide.
The launch of the $39,995 CSX 4000 Series 427 S/C Cobra was introduced at the Monterey Historic Event, and coincides with Shelby Automobiles' announcement that it is expanding it's production in it's new Las Vegas-based Cobra assembly facility at 6835 Speedway Blvd.
"This expanded production and final assembly program for the CSX 4000 Series Cobra is the next step in the long-range development and growth of Shelby Automobiles," says John Luft, president of Carroll Shelby International, Inc. The base Shelby Cobra 427 S/C (CSX 4000 Series) consists of a high-strength fiberglass composite body in legendary Cobra styling with original frame configuration, original four-wheel independent suspension with dual A-arms and coil-over shocks, rack and pinion steering, Baer brakes with Shelby-inscribed calipers and 15-inch Hallibrand-style pin drive wheels.
Headers and sidepipes plus a chrome roll bar complement the car's show-quality paint, available in an assortment of colors. Power routes through a Shelby aluminum differential housing Dana 44 gears with a 3.54 differential ratio.
Inside the classic appointments include an S/C dash layout with Signature Series autometer gauges, an original-style 15-inch wood rim steering wheel, wind wings and sun visors, leather seats, full carpeting (including the trunk) and aluminum fender closeout panels, front and rear.
A selection of options are also available, including, an aluminum or carbon fiber body, a LeMans striping package, a street car interior with glove box and side view mirrors, 16- and 17-inch wheel and tire packages, a 42 gallon racing fuel cell and more.
