viaLink Reports a Strong Finish for Its Third Quarter

DALLAS--Oct. 2, 2003--The viaLink Company (OTCBB:VLNK), the leading provider of synchronization and scan-based trading services to the consumer packaged goods and retail industries, said today that it had added an additional 31 NEW customer contracts since the last update on September 11, bringing the total to 61 for the third quarter.

"We closed the quarter 'firing on all cylinders' with contract growth in all of our services including UCCnet Agency services, data synchronization, scan-based trading and particularly in our automotive aftermarket Pay-on-Scan program," said Bob Noe, CEO of viaLink. "This momentum is being driven from our retailer customers building out their trading communities, but also the retailer requirements for their suppliers to supply base-item data through UCCnet. Our UCCnet Agency services growth continued so that we are currently servicing 41 companies in a variety of categories.

"We expect to discuss our outlook for the remainder of the year and release the financial results for our third quarter early in November," added Brian Carter, CFO of viaLink. "These contracts give us a head start for subscription revenue growth in the fourth quarter, even from the growth that we expect to report for the third quarter."
