Oxford Automotive Saltillo Plant Scores One Million To Zero

TROY, Mich., Oct. 1, 2003 -- Oxford Automotive, Inc.'s manufacturing plant in Saltillo, Mexico prides itself in achieving zero -- zero defects that is. The plant has shipped more than one million floor panels to General Motors' plant in Ramos Arizpe, Mexico with zero defective parts.

Oxford Automotive is a $1 billion Tier 1 supplier of engineered metal components, assemblies and modules to the automotive industry worldwide.

Oxford's Saltillo plant assembles and welds floor pans and other automotive parts for OEMs, with its biggest customer being General Motors.

"We are very proud to have attained more than one million parts with no defects," said Bernardo Ibarra, Saltillo plant manager. "This impressive record is a testament to the dedicated people who work so hard here."

The Saltillo plant is also celebrating other plant achievements this year, including operating more than four years without any lost time for injury. The plant is a 22,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility with 45 employees and QS 9000 certification.

Oxford Automotive, Inc., with headquarters in Troy, Mich., is a leading Tier 1 supplier of specialized metal-formed assemblies and related services. The company, which is privately held, currently has 7,200 employees at 33 locations in nine countries, with technology centers in the United States, France, Germany and Italy. Annual sales in 2002 were $1 billion.
